Great article!! I don't think there are many companies that fit the description you're giving of Google so basically get rid of all the "pros", and you end up with most places just being the "cons" :D
This is a great, transparent and realistic view of large corporations - resonated deeply from multiple large companies that felt like a soul sucking environment where you are incentivized to fit in instead of truly succeed.
A wonderful and honest realization you made. I had a past co-worker who once told me that she felt lucky but also untimely to have gotten her dream job at a dream employer as her first job. It sounds like a similar situation. Makes it that much harder to leave. It took you great courage to make that leap from all that ego-tripping comfort! (that friend of mine also ultimately left the company to try her hand at something else)

Great write up Andrew. It is still crazy to hear about the work-life at Google.
Great honest meaning of big tech and the security they can

Such a great read. Thanks for sharing Andrew.
Some seek freedom.
Some seek security.
Some seek adventure.
Some spend a lifetime choosing, while others simply step forward and decide.
